Meteorological Phenomena
Convective or adverse meteorological phenomena can cause serious damage to human life and to the economy of a country.
Reliable meteorological information, the efficient detection of complex weather phenomena, as well as the sustainable provision of integrated meteorological software systems, offer an effective spectrum to minimize the effect of weather hazards for interdisciplinary applications.
Meteorological Software
Leonardo’s meteorological software packages are designed to cover a wide range of tasks to suit different users. This includes the detection of adverse weather conditions, tracking and probabilistic short-term-forecasting, and generation and distribution of national mosaics/composites. Our software allows to process heterogeneous radar networks (3rd party radars), to seamlessly integrate other sensor data (lidar, satellite, lightning, etc.), and to utilize dual polarization information in a sophisticated manner.
Meteorological Software
All software packages are inhouse developments. Emphasis is placed on user-friendliness and operational stability. Customer specific developments can be realized within short timeframes. Latest results from the research sector are incorporated into the algorithms used for data processing and product generation. Web-based display options facilitate access to radar data via standard internet browsers. Flexible license options allow customizing our software packages to the individual user’s needs.
Our software packages provide state-of-the-art display and analysis of radar data and tailored alerts for a variety of applications.
