METEOR 700S
Overview
The METEOR 700S is a high-powered S-Band weather radar system designed to be employed in severe weather regions, where attenuation by intervening heavy rainfall impedes the precise measurement of precipitation at long ranges. The system features an 850kW magnetron transmitter driven by a solid-state modulator with graceful degradation providing fault-tolerant operation and higher system availability.
Features
The METEOR 700S is supplied with GDRX® and Rainbow® for the precise detection and tracking of thunderstorms, mesocale convective systems and other severe weather phenomena in tropical regions.
The METEOR 700S is available with single or dual polarization (DP). The dual polarization option further reduces the impact of rainfall attenuation, improves rain rate accuracy and makes way for the categorization of different types of hydrometeor such as drizzle, rain, hail and snow.
